Visiting Ambon January 2018 - home sweet home

I married a Belgium man and we live in Belgium since end of 2013.

After more less 5 years didn't visit my hometown, we decided to visit on January 2018. Me, my husband, and my 1 year old baby boy went through a very long trip from Europe to Ambon. We had one stop in Qatar, then we stayed 3 days in Jakarta before continue travelled to Ambon. It was one of the most exhausting trip i ever had in my entire life. The trip is quite long and wasn't that simple with our active baby boy. I was longing to see all my family and introduce our baby to people that i love and i know there. I was imagining the beautiful beaches, all the good memories about this place, and want to have good experience with my little family. 

We arrived in a hot weather Ambon. The airport is quite nice, there are some good decorations along the interior of the airport. Some orchids ornament made the airport feel more fresh. Once we were finished with our luggage, we were welcomed by several taxi driver outside. They said hello and started to offer their service by asked if we have anyone pick us up and where is our destination. We then took a taxi from the airport to the little district where my parents live, Kudamati. We paid Rp 250,000 which is around €20 for about 40 minutes trip.

Home sweet home. finally we arrived there. The house where i used to live is never changed. The same paint color, the same furnitures, they just changed the old floor with clear tiles everywhere. Some big trees in front of the house are remained the same, even though i notice some places around this house is no longer the same because some new houses are builded or recently renovated. 

This house is a non air-conditioner house. January was cold in Belgium, then in Jakarta we stayed in an air-conditioner equipped house, then in Ambon, the only fan that worked fine is in the living room. I din't wait too long, i then asked one of my cousin to bring me to do shopping for a fan. It is freaking hot, impossible for our baby to fall asleep in that climate.

First day went fine after i bought a new fan and put it in our room. We slept well, and planned for the second day and so on....
